The Irish Travellers Movement seeks to raise the profile of Irish Travellers in Britain and increase their say in decision making processes and forums. The ITM seeks to challenge discrimination and develop national policies that ensure the inclusion of Irish Travellers in all levels of society.

Day 1 - Opening Event

12 – 1.30 pm: Welcome – Yvonne MacNamara and Breda Mahoney ITMB - Event officially opened by Irish Ambassador - Julie Morgan MP – ‘Traveller Campaigners and advocates’ - Helena Kiely – Launch and screening of ITMB DVD ‘Meet Your Neighbours: Irish Traveller Role Models Speak Out’ –

Music, stalls, games, film, talent show and story telling throughout the day

Day 2 - Conference: ‘Into the Future’ Where Next for Irish Travellers. Speakers include:

Chair - Dr Kevin McNamara (former MP/Northern Ireland Spokesman)
Andy Slaughter MP Hammersmith and Fulham
Helena Kiely – Irish Traveller Youth Worker
Breda Doran - The Cambridgeshire Race Equality & Diversity Service
Lord Alf Dubs – All Party Parliamentary Group Traveller Law Reform

Workshops will also be held on site design and management, policies to deliver sites and Traveller culture.
